Watercolour was the first medium that I learned to paint with. It is a medium that is not easy to work with, to keep it fresh you have work quickly and with precession. It requires long hours of practice to perfect technique and only great love with the material will take you there.

St-Petersburg is one of my favourite subjects, which I never tire to paint and draw. At the end of May, beginning of June in St-Petersburg you can see an amazing natural wonder – the White Nights. It is time when darkness is about half an hour long. There are no people on the streets only magnificent architecture to enjoy and paint.

I find everything easy to depict in watercolour, as it is one of my favourite mediums: flowers, still life or portraits, I do many watercolours portraits by order, as I love to paint people.
